What Does a 1st Birthday Party Really Need? One Person.
Updated: 5 days ago
What does a first birthday party really need?
One person. That's it. One person who can manage everything for you, so you spend the evening with your baby instead of on the phone to five vendors.

Planning a first birthday? Theme, activities, food, cake, anchor and return gifts, all in one place: the complete first birthday guide for Delhi NCR.

Here's what that one person should be arranging for you.

1. A good photographer
Your baby turns one exactly once. A photographer and videographer (from ₹5,999) captures the candid moments, gets the family group shots done quickly, and gives you reels you'll still be watching years later. Make sure someone is briefed to round up the grandparents early, before anyone gets tired.

2. Theme décor that makes people stop at the door
A princess theme for a girl, a boss baby theme for a boy, jungle safari, Little Krishna, teddy bear or pastel: pick one and carry it through the entrance, the stage and the cake table. See our theme decoration (from ₹11,999), 1st birthday decoration (from ₹4,999), or all 25 trending themes with photos.

3. A bartender who makes proper mocktails
A mocktail bar with a live bartender gives the adults something better than a soft drink in a paper cup, and it photographs beautifully. Good for the colleagues and neighbours who come straight from work.

4. A play zone for the other children
At a first birthday, half the guest list is under ten. Jumpies and a games coordinator keep them busy and out of the buffet queue. Jumpies need about 10 ft x 10 ft of floor and a power point.

5. A magician who can hold the room
A magician (₹3,299 for a 90-minute magic and games show) is the one act that works for every age in the room: children in front, parents watching from behind, grandparents smiling from their chairs.

6. A DJ who reads the mood
Soft music while guests arrive, something upbeat at the cake cutting, then let the family dance. A DJ and sound setup starts at ₹5,999, and comes free with catering for 100 guests.

7. Food, and then more food
Nobody remembers a party with a short starter line. Get the starters circulating early, add live counters so queues keep moving, and keep the main course hot. Our catering is cooked live at your venue: veg from ₹699 per plate and non-veg from ₹899, with chaat, dosa, pizza, popcorn, cotton candy and a chocolate fountain as add-ons.

8. Service that nobody has to chase
Enough staff on the floor, plates cleared without being asked, and someone who notices the grandmother who hasn't eaten yet. This is the part guests never mention, and always feel.
And the cake

Time the cake cutting for when the baby is awake and fed, not when the schedule says so. Everything else can wait ten minutes.
What it costs to put together
Decoration: from ₹4,999 basic, ₹7,999 for a fuller setup, ₹25,000 premium
Catering: ₹699 per plate veg, ₹899 non-veg, cooked live at your venue
Entertainment: magician (₹3,299 for a 90-minute magic and games show), games coordinator, jumpies, tattoo and nail artists
DJ and sound: from ₹5,999, free with 100-guest catering
Photography and videography: from ₹5,999
See a real one we planned from start to finish: a Little Krishna first birthday for twins with 150 guests, or a full party for 50 guests under ₹40,000.
The point of the whole evening
You're not buying décor and a menu. You're buying a night you'll describe to your child years later, when they're old enough to ask what their first birthday was like. Book one person to hold all the pieces together, and spend the evening being in the photos rather than organising them.
