In September, twin brothers Yash and Yuvaan turned one. Their family invited 150 guests to a banquet hall in Bisrakh, Greater Noida, and asked Birthday Bazaar to handle the whole evening: the Little Krishna theme decoration, the stage, the cake, catering for 150, games for the children and photography.

Instead of telling the story from start to finish, this post walks you through the party the way a guest experienced it, stop by stop. Under each stop you will find a planner's note on what we did and why, so you can borrow the ideas for your own celebration.

Planning a first birthday? Theme, activities, food, cake, anchor and return gifts, all in one place: the complete first birthday guide for Delhi NCR.

The party at a glance

  • Occasion: First birthday of twins Yash & Yuvaan

  • Theme: Little Krishna (Bal Krishna) with pastel balloon work

  • Location: Banquet hall, Bisrakh, Greater Noida

  • Guests: 150

  • Month: September 2026

  • Birthday Bazaar handled: Theme decoration, entrance and stage, theme cake, full catering, kids' games and photography

Stop 1: The entrance

Guests walked in through a rainbow balloon arch flanked by Little Krishna cutouts. It set the theme before anyone reached the hall.

Planner's note: The entrance is the first photo spot of the night. Life-size theme cutouts double as selfie points, so guests start taking pictures even before they are seated.

Stop 2: The hall, just before doors opened

A banquet hall this size needs a layout that keeps families together and gives everyone a view of the stage. Round tables were set in clear rows with walking space for waiters and little ones.

Planner's note: Our setup takes around four hours, so the team arrives well before the party. Everything is checked and ready before the family walks in, and the balance payment is only due once the setup is ready.

Stop 3: Welcoming the guests

Grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends arrived dressed for the occasion. Elders were seated close to the stage so they could see every moment without needing to move around.

Stop 4: The birthday boys

The real stars of the evening were Yash and Yuvaan, dressed in matching grey waistcoats. Between photos, the balloons kept them entertained.

Twins tip: Two one-year-olds means two nap schedules. Plan the key moments, such as the stage photos and the cake cutting, for the window when both babies are usually awake and fed, and keep a quiet corner ready in case one of them needs a break.

Stop 5: The stage

The stage was the centrepiece: a pastel balloon backdrop, Little Krishna artwork and large name letters spelling out YASH and YUVAAN side by side, so each twin had his own name on display.

Planner's note: With twins, one shared stage works beautifully as long as both names get equal space. Separate name letters also make it easy to take a photo of each child with his own name.

Stop 6: The cake

The theme cake was a tall, tiered design with Little Krishna toppers and a big "One" on the front. The cake cutting brought the whole family to the stage.

Twins tip: One large cake for both babies keeps the moment together and the photos simple. If each twin will cut a cake, place the two cakes side by side on one table so the photographer can capture both at once.

Stop 7: Food for 150

Catering for 150 guests was cooked live on site, so food reached the tables hot. Families lingered over dinner long after the cake cutting.

Planner's note: For most parties, our food is cooked live at the venue rather than brought in pre-made. Our per-plate menus are ₹699 for veg and ₹899 for non-veg.

Stop 8: Games and the last group photos

While the babies rested, the older children had games and activities on the floor. The evening closed with more family group photos.

Planning your own twins' first birthday: a quick checklist

  • Book about a week ahead. Last-minute bookings are possible, but a week gives time for theme cutouts, name letters and the cake.

  • Pick the venue first. We set up at any venue you choose: home, society clubhouse, banquet hall, restaurant or terrace. You book the venue and arrange any society or RWA permission.

  • Decide on one cake or two. Both work well. Tell us early so the cake and the stage table are planned together.

  • Give both names equal space. Separate name letters or two name boards on the same stage.

  • Plan around naps. Schedule stage photos and cake cutting when both babies are usually at their best.

  • Leave room for games. A bouncy castle or games area needs about 10 ft x 10 ft of floor space.
