Here's a secret every parent learns the hard way: a one-year-old and a fourteen-year-old want completely different parties. The toddler wants cuddles, balloons and maybe a nap halfway through. The teenager wants music loud enough to rattle the windows, a mocktail with a tiny umbrella, and absolutely no cartoon characters, thank you very much.

The good news? You don't have to figure it all out. Whether you live in Gaur City or Greater Kailash, Indirapuram or Sector 150, Faridabad or Gurugram, Birthday Bazaar plans parties that fit the age: décor, balloons, food and activities that match who's actually blowing out the candles. From the very first birthday to the teen years, we've got you covered.

Age 1: the party is (secretly) for the grown-ups

Let's be honest: your one-year-old won't remember this party. But you will, and so will the grandparents, and so will every single photo. First birthdays are about family, a beautiful backdrop and a cake moment that makes everyone reach for their phones.

  • Décor: soft pastels, Little Krishna, teddy, a cartoon theme or classic white and gold. A big foil '1' is non-negotiable. See 1st birthday decoration.

  • Balloons: gentle pastel garlands and a photo corner at baby height for those 'first birthday' shots.

  • Activities: keep it calm. A friendly inflated suit character for photos, soft music, and a comfy corner for naps and feeds.

  • Food: this is where to spend. The adults are your real guests, so go for live-cooked catering and a chaat counter.

Ages 2 to 4: tiny explorers, big energy

Toddlers have discovered their legs and they intend to use them. They love bright colours, familiar characters and anything they can touch, chase or jump on. Attention spans are short, so the secret is lots of little activities rather than one long show.

  • Décor: Cocomelon, jungle, butterflies, farm animals and cars, with big friendly cutouts at their eye level.

  • Balloons: bright primary colours and a balloon arch they can run through (they will).

  • Activities: jumpies for the 3-plus crowd, a gentle games coordinator, and a character appearance for high-fives.

  • Food: mini portions, a popcorn stall and a fluffy cloud of cotton candy.

Ages 5 to 8: welcome to the magic years

This is the golden age of birthday parties. Kids are old enough to sit through a show, young enough to believe in magic, and enthusiastic about absolutely everything. If you've ever seen twenty five-year-olds gasp at the same moment, you know.

Ages 9 to 12: too cool for cartoons (almost)

Somewhere around nine, something shifts. Your child wants to do things, not just watch. They want to compete, create, dance and show off, preferably in front of their friends. Cartoon themes start to feel babyish; colour, lights and activities take over.

  • Décor: a bold colour-and-lights look, sports or music themes, or a neon-style party. Name boards still win.

  • Balloons: chrome and metallic balloons, big numbers and a photo wall they'll actually want to pose at.

  • Activities: nail art, tattoo art, competitive team games with prizes, and a dance-off with a DJ.

  • Food: pizza, pasta, a mocktail bar and a chocolate fountain for the sweet finish.

Ages 13 and 14: music, mocktails and main-character energy

Teenagers don't want a 'kids' party'. They want a party. That means great music, a dance floor, food they'd order themselves, and a photo spot worthy of their social feeds. Parents, this is your moment to step back (a little) and let the DJ take over.

  • Décor: black and gold, rose gold and white, a chrome look or a lit number backdrop. Sleek, not sweet.

  • Balloons: a gold balloon ring, chrome garlands and a big lit number for the age.

  • Activities: a DJ and sound setup with an LED dance floor where the venue allows, a grand entry for the birthday star, and cold pyro at the cake cutting.

  • Food: a pizza station, a mocktail bar, a dosa counter and a chaat counter. Basically everything they'd order on a Friday night.

Mixed ages? Easy.

Cousins aged two to twelve under one roof? That's most Indian birthdays, and we plan for it. We set up zones: a gentle corner with a character and a photo spot for the little ones, and an activity zone with tattoo, nail art and games for the older kids. A magic show brings everyone together in the middle, and the cake moment belongs to all of them.

And the grown-ups? Fed. Very well.

Every party has a second audience: the parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles who came for the food. Our chefs cook live at your venue for most events, so the pulao is steaming, the gulab jamun is warm and the chaat is freshly assembled. Veg catering starts from ₹699 per plate and non-veg from ₹899.

Which character themes can you do?

Almost any. These are the character themes parents ask us about most, each with its own guide to colours, activities, food and cost:

Which balloons suit each age?

  • 1st birthday: pastels with pearl-white metallic, a gold chrome number and confetti balloons over the cake.

  • Ages 2 to 4: bright matte colours and shaped foils they can hug.

  • Ages 5 to 8: theme colours in matte with metallic accents.

  • Ages 9 to 12: chrome and neon-bright shades that feel grown-up.

  • Teens: black and gold chrome, rose gold, or a lit number with confetti. Main-character energy, fully unlocked.

Quick guide: pastel balloons are soft and matte, metallic have a pearly satin sheen, chrome have a mirror-like shine that pops in photos, confetti balloons are clear with sparkle inside, and foil is for numbers, letters and shapes.

Want it reel-ready? Send us a photo of the outfit and your venue, and our decorators will suggest a balloon mix that's giving main-character energy. Ask our balloon team.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best entertainment for a 5-year-old's birthday?

A magic show is the star for ages 4 to 8, followed by a games coordinator. Add a chocolate fountain or cotton candy and you have a party they will talk about for weeks.

What do teenagers want at a birthday party?

Music first. A DJ, a dance floor, a mocktail bar, a pizza station and a photo spot matter more to 13 and 14 year olds than cartoon themes.

Can one party work for a 2-year-old and a 10-year-old?

Yes. Plan a gentle zone for little ones, with a character and a photo corner, and an activity zone for older kids, with tattoo, nail art and games.

Do you cover my area?

We work across Greater Noida West, Noida, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Delhi, Faridabad and Gurugram, and we offer same-day service when our team is free.

How much does an age-matched birthday party cost?

Packages start from ₹7,999, catering from ₹699 per plate for veg and ₹899 for non-veg, and each extra activity is ₹3,000 (magic and games: ₹3,299 for 90 minutes).
