Case Study: A Namakaran Ceremony for 110 Guests at SKA Orion Club House, Sector 143 Noida
Updated: Oct 1
Not every celebration we handle is a birthday. On 17th August 2026 we took care of a namakaran ceremony at SKA Orion Club House in Sector 143, Noida, for a family welcoming their first child — around 100 to 110 guests, with catering, balloon decoration and cakes all handled by us.
What a Namakaran Needs That a Birthday Doesn't
A naming ceremony sits somewhere between a religious function and a family party, and the setup has to respect both. There's a ritual portion that needs a clear, uncluttered space and a predictable schedule, and then a celebration portion that follows straight after. The decor has to feel warm and celebratory without overwhelming the ceremony itself, and the catering timing has to work around the rituals rather than the other way round.
For a first child in particular, the guest list tends to skew towards extended family across a wide age range — grandparents through to small children — which shapes both the menu and the seating.
The Venue: SKA Orion Club House, Sector 143
SKA Orion Club House sits in Sector 143, along the Noida Expressway corridor. Like most society clubhouse venues, it comes with a fixed access window and a shared service route for loading in. For a function with a ritual start time, that matters: the decoration and catering setup has to be complete and out of the way before guests and the ceremony begin, not running in parallel with them.
The Sector 143 and Expressway belt is an area we work in regularly, which helps with the practical side — access timings, parking and load-in are known quantities rather than surprises on the day.
The Menu
The menu was built to work for a wide age range and a largely vegetarian family gathering. The dishes that drew the most comment:
Malai chaap
Dahi ke shole
Kadhai paneer
Moong dal halwa
Moong dal halwa is a considered choice for a namakaran rather than an obvious one. It's a traditional festive sweet that reads as appropriate for a ceremonial occasion in a way that a generic dessert counter doesn't, and it lands well with the older guests who tend to make up a good share of the room at a naming ceremony.
What We Handled
Catering for approximately 100 to 110 guests
Balloon decoration for the ceremony and celebration space
Cakes for the celebration
The Outcome
The clearest signal that an event has gone well isn't the feedback on the night — it's what happens afterwards. In this case, we were booked for another event before this one had even finished, for a date at the end of September. Guests seeing the setup and the food in person, and booking on the spot, is the kind of result no amount of advertising produces.
