How Much Space Do You Need for a Birthday Party Setup?

A bouncy castle or games area needs roughly 10 feet by 10 feet of clear floor. A balloon backdrop needs about 8 feet of wall and 3 feet of standing room in front of it. Everything else fits around those two.

Measuring Your Space Before You Book

Stand where the cake table will go and look at the wall behind it. That wall is your backdrop. If it is shorter than about 8 feet, or a door or window breaks it up, tell us in advance so we build to the space rather than arriving with something that does not fit.

In a Flat

A living room usually takes a backdrop, a cake table and a small photo corner comfortably. A bouncy castle usually does not fit, and most societies do not allow one indoors anyway. Balloon decoration, a magic show and a games host work far better in a flat than large inflatables.

In a Society Clubhouse or Park

This is where most of our parties happen. Clubhouse halls generally take a full theme setup plus a games area. An outdoor park area takes a bouncy castle easily, but check whether your RWA allows one, and whether power points are available where you need them.

Remember the clubhouse slot includes our 4 hours of setup, not just your 3 hour party.

In a Banquet Hall or Restaurant

Space is rarely the constraint here; house rules are. Most halls do not allow anything fixed to walls or ceilings, so we use free-standing frames. Ask the venue about that, and about whether outside catering is allowed, before you pay the advance.

What We Need From You

A photo of the space on WhatsApp is enough. We will tell you what fits, what will not, and what we would do differently in that room. We set up at any venue you provide, but we do not book venues or arrange society permission.
